The Host is a Canon Monster in Evolve that does not appear in the game itself, it was originally planned for the game however was eventually put to the side.

Appearance

The Host was a grotesque beast with its body primarily consisting of one big mouth filled with razor sharp teeth, it has multiple eyes and 3 arms protruding from its body and 4 spider like legs and the Parasites would grow on its back.

Lore

The Host is a monster that fought alongside The Leviathans and Behemoths for the battle of Factor and ultimately caused the destruction of the planet

The Host is hinted to still be active as a morse code was translated to show that a mysterious monster appered and overran their forces and hacked into their security system possibly implying some sort of Host Adaptation where its parasites gain the ability to hack into things such as turrets.

Abilities

The Host was shown within the demo video to be capable of summoning 6 types of parasites which consist of

Berserker Parasites

The Berserker Parasites act as normal canon fodder for the host.

Bomber Parasites

Bomber Parasites would run up to enemies and explode showering the surrounding area in acid and leaving behind a acid mist cloud.

Mine Parasites

The Mine Parasites would burrow underground and explode when hunters went near them, they had a lifespan of 60 seconds.

Slayer Parasites

The Slayer Parasites could infect wildlife and Hunters by pouncing on them and laying eggs in them and giving birth to more Slayer Parasites to repeat the Process.

Tank Parasites

The Tank Parasites were heavily armored and stronger than Berserker Parasites but slower than them as well.

Wasp Parasites

Wasp Parasites were capable of flight and would sting anything that opposed them and The Host.

Parasite Docking

The Host could actually switch its traversal method by docking certain parasites, only 2 parasites are known to do this, the Tank Parasites could be docked for extra armor and the Wasp Parasites could be docked to allow The Host the ability of flight.

Reasons for being cut

The Host was eventually cut due to being too complex for their current technology although that hasn't stopped it from being a part of the actual story as despite this it is still canon and exists within the story.

Trivia

• It appears that it was going to lose some of its parasites to have 4 abilities like the other monsters as there is only 4 of the parasites which have concept arts as shown above.
  • The Mine Parasite and the Tank Parasite both appear to have been cut from the monster early on however could have returned in a host adaptation
