The Cryosaur are large super predators seen in Evolve Hunters Quest and were originally planned for release into the base game of Evolve.

The Cryosaur is the king of Shear's polar wastes. It is the undisputed alpha predator, capable of easily snapping a man in half.

Appearance

The Cryosaur was a colossal predator with a shell like protrusion on its back, 4 powerful arms, a hammerhead like head and a "split Mouth" reminiscent of Kraken or the Crowbill Sloth, its colossal in size being one of the largest creatures on the land of Shear and likely one of if not its most powerful.

Locations

While one cannot be found within the base game they are said from multiple sources to inhabit the icy regions of Shear and specifically large areas filled with ice.

Behavior

The Cryosaur while not released does have info due to appearing within Evolve Hunters Quest, they are colossal predators inhabiting the icy regions of shear and they use special organs to melt the ice and burrow underneath, they then will let the ice refreeze and lie in wait detecting the vibrations of anything passing by and would attack likely killing whatever was unfortunate enough to cross its path.

Its also said to provide a threat to even a stage 3 Monster.

Reasons for being cut

Ultimately they were removed due to taking up large spaces of the map and them instakilling hunters (although they weren't reworked into map limit effects to prevent people from leaving the boundaries), the Glacial Serpents would suffer a similar fate.

Trivia

• While they were scrapped they did appear in Hunters Quest as Mini-Bosses.
• They also had the name Titan but was eventually changed to Cryosaur with Hunters Quest.
